Starting Templates

We recommend using templates or pre-built website for many reasons. But the main reason is cost. I am a web programmer and love building websites from scratch using the programming languages of the web: HTML, CSS, Java Script, PHP, and MySql. But by using the “Open Source” program called “WordPress” I gain many benefits. Because “WordPress” is open source code. Many developers write what are called “Themes”, “Plugins”, and/or “Widgets.” By adding these tools with WordPress, a web developer can greatly reduce the time required to create a website.
By using WordPress, you are not tied to my company. If for some reason you want to use a different web developer in the future, you will have no difficulty in finding a developer that can step right in.
I go one step beyond, by using templates, that are specific to the customer’s business, office, or store I can reduce the time even further. That doesn’t mean that by using a pre-built design the product will look like the pre-built design.
All the time pictures, color schemes, and arrangement need to be changed making the product look totally different. My website www.southparkwebdesign.com was built using a pre-built design. However, my site looks nothing like the pre-built design I used.
Using a template design has another benefit, in most cases, I can load the template design into WordPress allowing you, the customer, to see how the site works. Together we can decide what needs to be changed and what we can keep. I can suggest pictures and verbiage that needs to be changed. When finished and you have been taught CMS you will able to make many changes on you own. This would not be possible if I wrote the code from scratch.
